Working With Simple Scrapbooking Layouts

So you finally are ready to be a scrapper!  Question now is, how will you begin to capture those memories and tell your story?  Without doubt everyone will have their own unique way of expression.  But what is the best route to take in your early forays in the scrapbooking world? Easy --- start with simple scrapbooking layouts.  Work initially with the basics and find your way up.

Simple scrapbooking layouts normally have a focal point.  Choose the best picture that captures the story and make it the focus of the scrapbook page.  All other embellishments added to the page must help highlight or balance the photo.

In this age of digital photography, there is a tendency (and the means) to take lots of shots.  Some scrappers are wont to waste them and tend to find means to include as many as they can on the page. Don’t fall into this trap. Instead, just choose the best of the best and limit the number of photos in the page.  Aside from the focal picture, choose a few best shots that will support the story.

If you already have simple scrapbooking layouts to work on, you can keep it simpler still by choosing one or two layouts and just change them each time you use them by having different patterned papers and decorations.

Starting a scrapbooking hobby can be quite rewarding.  Aside from providing an outlet to express your creativity it is also an excellent way to store memories. And just as is often said, no task is daunting if your heart is in it and if you start from the basics.
