Scrapbooks are a lively
journal of memories one wishes to commemorate through time. Each page is a
story unfolding as life rolls on. Scrapbooking has always been seen as a fun
hobby and has continued to become more popular in recent years. It has indeed become
an industry in itself – proof of that is the ever growing availability and
variations of creative materials you see in craft shops and novelty stores.
But have you experienced printing
your photos, buying all those colorful craft materials, and all set to pursue
your new hobby – and slip on the layout dilemma? You can’t seem to find the
best fit to capture your story. You couldn’t be alone as this is the stumbling
block for many new scrappers. As they say, we all have a story to tell, but we
all aren't good storytellers.
Scrapbooking sketches do
save the day for new hobbyists. The ready layout sketches give you the motivation
and idea on how to proceed with your story without losing your creativity
altogether. The sketches allow you to see how your photos and other elements
you put in your page will look like even before starting your actual project.
The sketches make scrapbooking more accessible and enjoyable; boosting your confidence that you
will have enough time and energy to “keep” the moment alive and yes, tell your
story.
Too true. Sketches can be a great source of inspiration. My advice for new scrapbookers is choose one color from the photo and base your page around that. Always easier to start when some choices are already made :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inspiration - I have a part completed scrapbook for my daughter when she was a baby - I must get it out and complete it!
